[The Lengths They Go To]

The Buderus 500 range of gas fired condensing boilers offers a flue length of up to 35meters, providing exceptional siting flexibility, using the optional 80/125mm concentric flue system.

Buderus gas condensing boilers allow for a wide variety of fluing options to suit virtually every domestic installation. This provides much greater siting flexibility, making garage, outhouse or even loft locations a practical alternative to the typical kitchen installation.

With the ModuLink wireless combined room thermostat and programmer, combi boiler siting can be even more versatile as the radio frequency controls allow the boiler to be positioned up to 30 metres away from the control unit.

Having the option to site the boiler in a wide variety of locations around the home helps the installer to pick a place which avoids issues of pluming which can occur when condensing boilers operate at maximum efficiency. The long flue lengths and the wireless control systems offered by Buderus mean that installers have more freedom to find the right place to site the boiler. Often this flexibility will enable the installer to choose a vertical flue, which Buderus recommends for its condensing boilers both for simplicity and cost savings.

The high efficiency Buderus gas range has been designed with specific attention to ensuring the easiest possible flow of flue gases through the boiler. Resistance of flue gases within the boiler is minimised by the design of the gas air unit and the heat exchanger. The gas air unit contains a high-powered fan that helps to ensure the boiler continues to work efficiently even with long flue lengths.

Traditionally the problem with longer flues is that the fan has to overcome high levels of resistance through the flue. To combat this, Buderus has developed a fan protection system. This includes a valve that prevents combustion gas from entering the gas air unit and so the differential between inlet and outlet pressures can be maintained. As long as the inlet pressure remains higher than the outlet pressure, the flue gases will be forced out along the flue.

The larger diameter of the 80/125mm flue allows flue gases to flow through the flue pipe with less resistance. Normally the power of the fan is used to overcome this resistance but, if it is not necessary, energy saved can be used to move the flue gases along a greater flue length which, in turn, provides the installer with solutions to tackle more complex flue installations.

Using the standard 60/100mm flue kit allows a flue length of up to 12m.

The Buderus gas condensing range includes 12 models, all SEDBUK A rated, and provides a choice of regular, system and combi with Warmstart boilers, whichever is best suited for the specific installation.

These factors are the result of over 25 years of innovation in condensing boiler development, which have made Buderus a top brand throughout Europe for quality, reliability and technological excellence.
